Rice often is an essential ingredient in our recipes. Cooking rice is not difficult. We’re sure you’re probably able to cook your rice without any additional instructions. Hence, why we don’t include any instructions in our recipes. However, we think that you should cook your rice a certain way for our tofu recipes. Besides being the optimal way to cook your rice, this cooking method also makes sure that you don’t need to drain the rice making it extra easy for you.
How should I cook my rice then?
- Start by filling your pan with any amount of rice to your preference. Make sure to note the amount of rice you put in the pan. You will need this information in step 2.
- Fill your pan with water. The amount of water that you put in should be 1.5x more than the amount of rice. This means that there is a rice to water ratio of 1 to 1.5.
- Heat your pan until the water is boiling. At this point you need to place the pan on medium-high heat. Place the lid on the pan and don’t take it off.
- Leave the lid on the pan and let the rice cook until all the water has been soaked up by the rice and/or evaporated.
- Your rice is ready! Turn off your heat or place the pan on a really low heat to keep the rice warm.
